The Admissions Committee reviewed carefully your application for admission and accompanying credentials for the fall semester, 2011, under the Regular Decision plan. We appreciate your interest and regret that we will not be able to offer you admission to Syracuse University.
There was a significant increase in the number of applications this year and candidates presented exceptionally impressive credentials, making admission highly competitive. The Admissions Committee considers every aspect of a student's application including the strength of academic credentials, talent, experiences and personal qualities that each student would bring to our campus. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer many capable students a place in the first-year class.
We encourage you to consider transferring to Syracuse University in the future. If you enroll full time in another institution, you may reapply after one year. Transfer students find the transition enhanced by individual academic counseling and a receptive policy of credit transfer. We will be pleased to discuss this option with you.
