　　Harry Houdini is a Hungarian-born American magician and escapologist, noted for his sensational escape acts. Haryy Houdini’s intense interest in magic was ignited when he first watched the magic show given by a travelling magician. After delving into it, he completely fell in love with this art form and showed a great talent for it. His early magic career wasn’t successful, but his passion for magic spurred him on to follow his magic path steadily.

　　Houdini&aposs career took off in 1899 when he met manager Martin Beck, who was greatly impressed by his Handcuff Escape performance. Later, Houdini took Beck’s advice and began to concentrate on escape acts. He created many other famous escape acts, such as Milk Can Escape, Chinese Water Torture Cell Escape and Suspended Straitjacket Escape. Those escapes were often very dangerous. One performance called Buried Alive Escape nearly cost his life. But his love for magic seemed to grow deeper and firmer after all those dangers and setbacks.
