1、學(xué)校監(jiān)管
寄宿學(xué)校住校的老師比例占的越高，一般而言學(xué)生們能夠得到的關(guān)注和幫助也會(huì)更多。
其中學(xué)校對(duì)學(xué)生晚自習(xí)的安排，也是學(xué)校監(jiān)管的重要內(nèi)容。

• 學(xué)校的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)團(tuán)隊(duì)是怎樣的？ What kind of leadership and governance does the school have? Is it governed by a board or an owner-operator? Is it non-profit or for-profit?
• 在校有多少位老師？平均年齡都多大？結(jié)婚單身？男女老師的比例？?How many staff are there? Average age, single/married ratio, male/female ratio, etc.?
• 老師住在哪里？Where do staff live?
• 所有任職的老師有做過背景調(diào)查嗎？What kind of background checks are done on staff?
• 可以看看學(xué)校的團(tuán)隊(duì)組織結(jié)構(gòu)圖嗎？?How many administrators are available? What does the organizational chart look like?
• 每年新入職的老師比例是多少？?What is the average longevity of staff in the program? What percentage are new staff this year?
• 晚自習(xí)的地點(diǎn)是在學(xué)生宿舍、自習(xí)室還是學(xué)校圖書館？
• 是否有老師進(jìn)行看管，是否有老師進(jìn)行答疑？
• 是否會(huì)沒收手機(jī)

2、課外活動(dòng)和周末安排
一般來說學(xué)校都會(huì)有多樣的課外活動(dòng)可以選擇，所以要多去了解下學(xué)生所感興趣的活動(dòng)。寄宿制的學(xué)校一般都會(huì)安排周末，有些學(xué)校會(huì)提供周六課程，有些學(xué)校則會(huì)組織學(xué)生到周圍的城市去，些課外活動(dòng)信息內(nèi)容都是要在訪校時(shí)要了解的內(nèi)容。

• 學(xué)校有什么好玩而且特有的傳統(tǒng)、禁忌、節(jié)日?? Do you have any interesting traditions?
• 看看貼在宿舍和告示牌上的活動(dòng)海報(bào)，孩子們有哪些課外活動(dòng)可以選擇，有什么有特色的項(xiàng)目？What extracurricular opportunities (sports, clubs, community service, competitions) are available for students?
• 孩子一天當(dāng)中多少時(shí)間可以課外活動(dòng)？How much outdoor time do kids get each day?
• 有沒有課外活動(dòng)的俱樂部？Are there organized athletic teams?
• 音樂、戲劇課程之類的需要額外收費(fèi)嗎？An additional charge for Music and Drama lessons？
• 是否可以經(jīng)常帶孩子們集體旅游，是否收費(fèi)？
• 學(xué)生去旅游的話，誰來監(jiān)管？?When students are traveling off campus, what supervision is available?
• 對(duì)舞蹈、唱歌感興趣的話，還要去參觀一下學(xué)校的舞蹈房，看看舞蹈房的場(chǎng)地、設(shè)備和狀態(tài)
• 我的孩子有沒有機(jī)會(huì)當(dāng)課外活動(dòng)的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)者？leadership opportunities

3、小長假安排
在小長假的時(shí)候，學(xué)校一般是要清空的，有些學(xué)校會(huì)幫國際學(xué)生找寄宿家庭，而有些學(xué)校則不會(huì)專門安排。作為家長，如果擔(dān)心自己的孩子在小長假無處可去的話，在訪校的時(shí)候就要了解清楚學(xué)校有沒有相關(guān)的配對(duì)制度。
4、學(xué)校的緊急情況處理機(jī)制、與家長的聯(lián)系

• 學(xué)校的安全怎么樣？How is the security of your campus?
• 我們家長一般什么時(shí)候可以聯(lián)系學(xué)生？When can I contact my child??
• 如果學(xué)生想家了，學(xué)校會(huì)做什么？What can be done to ease the likelihood of initial homesickness (if this is anticipated)?
• 如果孩子生病了、出現(xiàn)緊急情況了該怎么處理? What about medical emergencies? What type of medical facilities do you have?
• 學(xué)校是否有專業(yè)負(fù)責(zé)處理緊急情況的老師? Are there trained/qualified staff on duty 24/7? How many nursing staff are there? What hours are they on duty?
• 在緊急情況下，學(xué)校會(huì)怎么和家長溝通? How does this school keep parents informed of school information and activities?
• 學(xué)校會(huì)多大程度上參考家長的建議？Does the school value what parents have to say and respond to issues parents raise? Is there an advisor, case manager, or similar contact person that I or my child should contact if we are dissatisfied with it?
• 有沒有特殊的一個(gè)部分專門負(fù)責(zé)聯(lián)系家長和老師之間的關(guān)系？Is there any active parent-teacher organization that has easy access to the educators and administrators at the school?
• 學(xué)校到附近醫(yī)院有多遠(yuǎn)距離? How close is the nearest hospital?
• 有過學(xué)校暴力事件嗎？學(xué)校怎樣防止校園暴力？Is bullying a problem at the school? Does the school have an anti-bullying policy?

5. 學(xué)習(xí)相關(guān)

• 學(xué)校是怎么選老師的？How does the school select teachers? Are the teachers certificated? .What are the teachers’ qualifications? What kind of professional development are they offered?
• 您（學(xué)校老師）為什么來這個(gè)學(xué)校任職呢？Why did you choose to teach here?
• 校長來這個(gè)學(xué)校多久了？How long has the Head been in place?
• 學(xué)校有哪些受人愛戴的老師（可以側(cè)面看出學(xué)校的師生關(guān)系是否親近，或許學(xué)校還會(huì)分享有趣的事情）） Do you have a favorite teacher? Who is it, and why?
• 一個(gè)年級(jí)有多少個(gè)班？每節(jié)課學(xué)習(xí)多長時(shí)間？What is the typical class day? How many classes? How long is each?
• 學(xué)校將怎樣評(píng)估學(xué)生在學(xué)校的學(xué)習(xí)情況以及進(jìn)步的速度？How important are test scores? How does the school measure individual achievement and progress?
• 我怎么知道孩子的學(xué)習(xí)情況？What do you provide in the way of pastoral support? ?Can I find out how my child is doing in school? What are their grades? How will I know how well my student is doing? How often will I be informed?
• 有沒有家庭作業(yè)？作業(yè)量是大是小？學(xué)生一般在哪里做作業(yè)？How much homework do students have?? What is the school’s homework policy? Is there homework help? ?How/when/where does my child study or do homework? How much is typically assigned daily?
• 萬一我孩子學(xué)習(xí)水平一般，學(xué)校怎么幫助學(xué)習(xí)？If my student is struggling, what support does the school provide? Are there adults who my child can go to if they need some support?
• 學(xué)校怎么幫助母語非英語的學(xué)生克服語言文化的障礙？所提供的英文幫助是否是需要付費(fèi)？How does this school support students who have academic, social or emotional difficulties? What strategies are used to teach students who are not fluent in English?
• 學(xué)校還提供哪些語言課？學(xué)生最常選哪些語種的語言科目？如果我孩子想選某個(gè)語言課，您覺得什么時(shí)候合適？Are world language classes (French, Spanish, etc.) offered to students? At what grade level do students begin studying foreign languages? Do children learn other languages and at what age do they start?
• 學(xué)校有什么教學(xué)科技設(shè)備用于教學(xué)嗎？How is technology used to support teaching and learning at this school? What type of computer technology is available? Networking, email, WWW access, word processing, etc.?
• 學(xué)生需要自備電腦嗎？Do students need to provide their own computer?
• 觀察課間的時(shí)候?qū)W生是傾向于在學(xué)校教室之間來回穿梭？還是傾向于在場(chǎng)外游玩？How do students behave as they move from class to class or play outside?

6. 獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金

• 學(xué)校對(duì)于表現(xiàn)優(yōu)異的孩子有什么獎(jiǎng)勵(lì)嗎？Does the school have a program for gifted students?
• 學(xué)校有開設(shè)有什么獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金嗎？Do you offer scholarships?

7. 設(shè)施
教室和圖書館對(duì)于學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)生活的重要性想必大家都知道，這畢竟是學(xué)生最重要的學(xué)習(xí)場(chǎng)所，所以學(xué)校教室和圖書館具體的設(shè)施如何、藏書量如何、管理制度是否完善都是應(yīng)該要考察的。

• What kind of library resources are available to students?
• 學(xué)校沒有圖書館或者圖書館藏書很少，那學(xué)校是怎么樣來提高學(xué)生的閱讀水平?
• 怎么樣來保障學(xué)生可以查閱需要的資料?
• 學(xué)校是否可以提供有關(guān)的電子書?

8. 餐飲

• 飯點(diǎn)是什么時(shí)候？When is lunch\Dinner?
• 學(xué)校的飲食營養(yǎng)搭配如何，都有什么口味？What’s the food like? What food service is available? How flexible is it? What is the meal schedule?
• 學(xué)生們可以自己額外加餐嗎？
• 有機(jī)會(huì)的話，到學(xué)校餐廳吃飯的時(shí)候，跟校園里的學(xué)生談?wù)勊麄儗?duì)學(xué)校的印象。感受下孩子能跟校園里的學(xué)生自如愉快地相處么？

9. 宿舍
寄宿制的學(xué)校的住宿環(huán)境肯定很重要。一般來說，在各類網(wǎng)站上就可以看到學(xué)校的學(xué)生寄宿比例，但是為了確保信息準(zhǔn)確

• 在訪校的過程中也可以再和校方確認(rèn)學(xué)校的寄宿比例，通過這個(gè)來初步判斷學(xué)校對(duì)寄宿制學(xué)生的關(guān)心程度。What proportion of your pupils are boarders?
• 學(xué)校不一定給你看房間內(nèi)部，畢竟房間里面還是屬于個(gè)人的隱私空間，如果某個(gè)學(xué)校的參觀流程里面沒有參觀房間這項(xiàng)的話就不要強(qiáng)求了。
• 想象下孩子住在宿舍里的情景，孩子是否滿意宿舍所在的位置，比如它距離教室和學(xué)生中心的距離。
• 可以的話，找宿管老師聊聊（舍監(jiān)housemaster），那是學(xué)生每天要面對(duì)的人，關(guān)心一下老師的資質(zhì)、經(jīng)驗(yàn)等等。What are the qualifications of your residential staff?
• 學(xué)生的晚間生活是怎樣的？What is the typical evening like?
• 學(xué)生的就寢和起床時(shí)間是怎樣的？?What are the morning and bedtime routines?
• 晚上如果有突發(fā)事情怎么辦？What supervision/emergency coverage is available overnight when most staff are sleeping? Are staff trained in emergency first aid?
• 宿舍是怎么分配的？如果我孩子不喜歡舍友怎么辦？How flexible are dorm room assignments? What if my child does not like his or her roommate?
• 浴室是獨(dú)立的還是公共的？?What types of bathroom/shower accommodations are available?
• 有干洗服務(wù)嗎？How is laundry/linen handled?
• 周末宿舍一般有什么活動(dòng)？也有監(jiān)管老師嗎？What kinds of activities and supervision are available on weekends? Is weekend staff the same as weekday staff?
• 學(xué)生如果周末想去同學(xué)家玩，允許嗎？What is the process for students to get permission to visit the homes of friends on weekends? How readily are students allowed to leave campus unsupervised?
• 宿舍禁煙禁酒嗎？Are drugs and alcohol a problem on your campus? How are infractions for such issues handled?

10. 評(píng)估環(huán)境

• 校園對(duì)孩子來說會(huì)太大或太小么？
• 孩子喜歡附近的鎮(zhèn)子么？還是認(rèn)為校園太過孤立？想象孩子將來會(huì)怎樣在校園中穿行，特別是在雨天和雪天。
• 學(xué)校還會(huì)有新建的場(chǎng)所和地址嗎？Is this the permanent location or facility for the school? If not, will the school be moving to another location in the near future?
• 學(xué)校和當(dāng)?shù)厣鐓^(qū)的關(guān)系如何？?What kind of relationship does the school and its members have with the local community?

11. 錄取相關(guān)

• 學(xué)校錄取學(xué)生的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)是什么？傾向于招收怎么樣的學(xué)生？What are your entrance requirements and admissions procedures? What type of student is the school looking for?
• 有多少的學(xué)生去名校？How many of your pupils go on to top universities? Do you have any contacts in universities and professions? Where do the school’s graduates go? In the case of a high school, what percentage of students go on to university? Do they get accepted to their first choice?

注意事項(xiàng)：

1. 建議提前15分鐘左右到達(dá)學(xué)校，提前參觀一下周圍的環(huán)境；
2. 如果允許的話，看看課程表、教材、學(xué)校的日歷。Can I see a listing of the curriculum, including course variety in all areas? ? Can I have a copy of the school calendar?
3. 如果是參觀女校，建議參觀宿舍的時(shí)候父親在公共休息室等等就好，不要跟進(jìn)學(xué)生住宿的地方。
4. 讓孩子適量問問題，千萬不要把孩子扔在身后不管而家長不停問學(xué)校問題，可能會(huì)讓學(xué)校感覺學(xué)生本人不夠關(guān)心或者太害羞。
5. 記錄參觀的每個(gè)學(xué)校的印象：如果不及時(shí)記錄想法，等回來之后對(duì)參觀過的學(xué)校的印象就會(huì)慢慢模糊。把學(xué)校的優(yōu)缺點(diǎn)記錄下來，便于比較，也可以拍一些照片幫你來記憶你參觀過的學(xué)校。
