霧霾已成為中國夢的頭號敵人.

　　目前在北京最受歡迎的一款iPad應用是"中國空氣污染指數(shù)"。這款應用既令人著迷，又令人不安。最近，我在入住北京一家賓館時發(fā)現(xiàn)，即便站在40層樓上，也無法看清一個街區(qū)以外的地方，因為這座城市已被灰色的霧霾包裹住了。于是我查看了一下數(shù)據(jù)，發(fā)現(xiàn)空氣污染水平(衡量尤為危險的細微顆粒)是250，約為安全水平的5倍。往長遠的地方去看，霧霾已經(jīng)成為了中國夢的頭號敵人。請看下面的雙語新聞：

　　But the choking smog suggests that the leadership needs to rethink its national goals. After all, what is the point of rapid economic growth if it creates cities in which it is dangerous to breathe?
